- "My Favorite Nonprofit" is Here: Now You Can Raise Funds from eBay buyers
- New features and a user agreement update with our May 2010 release this month.
- We are excited to announce our May 2010 release, which includes new and updated features making it easier to raise funds from buying and selling on eBay. Read below for detail on all of the changes in this release.
Give At Checkout
- Since late 2008 we have been testing an option called eBay Give At Checkout, which allows eBay buyers to add $1 (or more) to any purchase when they pay by PayPal. Give At Checkout is similar to the point-of-purchase donation programs popular at offline retailers. Our feature has been praised by eBay users, and has raise more than $5 million (mostly $1 at a time) for a limited number of nonprofits so far.
- Encouraged by these results, now we’re opening Give At Checkout up to everyone. Starting today, your nonprofit is eligible to receive donations from eBay buyers through Give At Checkout. You can also opt out of this opportunity, if you prefer.
My Favorite Nonprofit
- With this, each eBay user can customize the organizations that appear to them in Give At Checkout. We are letting eBay users create a list of nonprofits they care about, through the new “My Favorite Nonprofit” feature. If they choose favorites, we’ll feature the causes in checkout that they care about, instead of the ones we’ve selected. Each buyer will have the opportunity to add a $1 donation (or more) to their favorite nonprofits, every time they shop. They’ll also see their favorite as a featured cause whenever they create a new eBay listing.
Write a Tag Line
- To make the most of the Give At Checkout option, take advantage of a new field we’ve added to your MissionFish Profile, and write a compelling Tag Line that will inspire eBay users to give. Don’t wait, learn how to add your Tag Line now!

Community Selling Notifications
- We’ve also simplified your Community Selling notification choices: now you can choose to get an email when you receive a new Community Seller listing, or not.
User Agreement Updates
- We’re also updating your nonprofit user agreement, effective May 28, 2010. You don’t need to do anything to approve these changes: this is a courtesy notification.
